I get asked this question often.  HOW do you survive holidays while staying on track with your goals?  Eating correct, etc.  There are a few ways you can approach it.  I am VERY family oriented and I believe proper balance within your life is important key to success.  If you are NOT in contest prep, you SHOULD be enjoying family time / mental down time.  One meal will not break you, it wont ruin your goals, nor will it make you lose your next show.  In fact, many times, enjoying that mental down time will rev you up and keep you on track further.
